what does AP stand for when used by Wemmick, the clerk in Dickens's Great expectations?

Have read the book and seen the film, can't remember Wemmick. Could you put in the quote? It's not aged parent is it - I remember finding it hilarious to call my mum and dad aged parents after reading one of Dicken's books?

Yep, Aged Parent. My sister and I have been calling my dad that for about 20 years now. We also do the "Just give him a nod" bit too.

Aged Parent, usually shortened by Wemmick to Aged P. They are both delightful characters, and if you study the theme of 'the notion of a gentleman' in the book, you will see that Wemmick in particular is a perfect gentleman.
