Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Now that JK Rowling has officially named her next book who do you think is the half-blood prince?? I initally thought it could possibly be something to do with Neville Longbottom, but have since remembered that both his parents were wizards therefore he is full blood. Anyone any suggestions as to who it could possibly be??

Not normally, it should just save it.  It will then download a cookie to your computer.  YOur computer will have to be set up to enable cookies.  I'm afraid I don't know how to do that.

J.K Rowling has already stated that the half blooded prince its not to be He who must not be named - so my guess is that it will be a new character -  maybe even an imposter linked to the dark lord?!?!

Hi, Mark Evans is nobody - JK said she needed a character for a few pages and thats all. From the description (in the chapter from the new book) she has released, it sounds very much like crookshanks. She said that he was like an old lion, with yellow eyes etc. JK might be trying to lure her readers into a false sense of reality and springing a suprise on us. It can't be neville as he's full-blood, nor harry or voldermont as she has already said its not them. it won't be dean thomas or someone similar, it'll need to be either someone new or someone who has been mentioned quite a lot. crookshanks has been in a lot of scenes and could have been helping from behind the scenes - remember he assisted sirius in the third book. Hermione would be too dull a selection, JK will be looking to shock her following - I can't wait till July!

It cannot be harry because j.k rowling has allready said it was not harry or voldermort and also if it was Harry the title would be Harry Potter the half blooded prince.

I think its hagrid because he is a half blood and it is possible his dead muggle father could have been a king somewere.

Im presty sure it is Vouldemort! Hes a halfblood and he is trying to rule the world! Harry also could be him! Dudley could fight of a manticore or somthing, or get past a sphinz....

I think the halfblood prince is professor lupin (book3)cause he's a halfblood (werewolf) and he stays alive

I also know that sirius will be ressurected to fight alongside harry and the order off the phoenix

Not many people out there seem to support the Dean Thomas Theory, so I'm going to give my shot at the reasoning why as I've read up on a few websites and got a few ideas. I haven't read all the posts on this thread so im sorry if i've repeated anyones ideas (^_^).

The first reason why i think Dean Thomas could be th half blood prince is because JKR said that there's this relationship between COS and HBP, and that she had to take out some of the storylines in COS later on and put it in HBP. The last time i was playing around on her website i remember reading that in the original COS Dean was meant to be involved in the chamber of secrets adventure as well and his original name was meant to be gary or something. I think that he has a more prominent role to play in terms of the harry potter adventures yet. Also, if i can remember correctly. Gary is either a half blood or a mudblood but i got we also don't really know that much about his origins as the other characters to completely rule him out.

I have a feeling that i'm not mentioning something but at the moment i got a block so if anything comes up later i'll remember to post it up but for now au revoir!

Oh yea that part about him being a halfblood is further confirmed by the fact that his father was a wizard, but he was only raised by muggles. Jk said this herself somewhere so yea. Thats wat I think anywaz.

One news. on a site, I've read Jk's description of the half-blood prince.

"He looked rather like an old lion. There were streaks of grey in his mane of tawny hair and his bushy eyebrows; he had keen yellowish eyes behind a pair of wire-rimmed spectacles and a certain rangy, loping grace even though he walked with a slight limp."

So, even if Hagrid and Dumbledore have bushy eyebrows, and than Dumbledore has spectacles, I don't think neither of them has yellowish eyes, or something like that. (Dumbledore is pure-blood, not half-blood.)

And Harry and Voldemort are definitly a different thing, don't you think? (Even if it would be cool Harry is the half-blood prince.)

Of course, I am maybe wrong, but still, some extra informations can't hurt, can they?

JK said that the Half Blood Prince was introduced in Chamber of secrets, and she says that it's not Voldemort or Harry Potter, may be it's Tom Riddle, because he had a Pure Blood Mother, and a muggle father, so he is Half Blood.

i personally think its dean thomas. i mean in one article i read, j.k rowling was talking about how she had to leave out ALOT of stuff about him in the first and second book, otherwise it would have been to long. seriously, what do we really know about him?

Ok. I think voldemort is the half blooded prince because he has harry's blood, which makes him half blooded. He's a prince because everyone fears him.     He's not a king. . . yet because Harry, Neville, and dumbildore (sorry don't know how to spell it) are in the way. After he kills them he will be a king. Everyone will follow him, and all will be doomed. 'Harry Potter and the Half Blooded Prince' is basically saying 'Voldemort's Return.' That's just my guess. Think about it, it makes sense.

i thinks its hagrid, because he is half giant and half wizard and they really haven't gotten into details what the giants r gonna do about the whole war, and why would they just add a whole chapter about his efforts with the giants if it was for nothing
