Now that JK Rowling has officially named her next book who do you think is the half-blood prince?? I initally thought it could possibly be something to do with Neville Longbottom, but have since remembered that both his parents were wizards therefore he is full blood. Anyone any suggestions as to who it could possibly be??

veritas as you see nobody believes what you wrote. So stop writing stupid things because we dont believe it. But its fun to read such nonsense. If you were right and only if, I would be sorry, but I dont think I will ever have to say that I was wrong about you not being someone from bloomsbury, because uber_banda is just right.

Potterfan3 I think the suggestion about the letters swaping around could be, that would be like joanne, but it would have to be a very long name, and the problem is that we dont know the second name of anyone.

I don't think JKR is letting everybody from Bloomsbury reed HBP and if she does, I think people have to promise (or something like that, with a contract or something like that) not to tell anyone about it. So veritas, if you are right I'm sorry that I have said the things above.

And I forgot veritas, there's one reason (well I think) we don't believe you and that's because we are all real HP fans.
well said magic one
well gpotterfan on mugglenet it has lods of anagrams from hp (an anagram is the proper word for things that spell a different thing when you swap the letters around)the last one is interesting  have a look http://www.mugglenet.com/books/anagrams.shtml

the last one really is interesting ( you do mean the gold bribe below St. Mungos ) but at the moment I only can think about Malfoy passing gold to the ministry and dont know what this has got to do with the halfblood prince. But on the other hand...I dont know. Are we perhaps too keen on finding hidden clues or information and are trying to see something where there isnt anything? Because it is a lot of work to make these anagrams and especially while writing a book. Ok, she has the storyline but if you are writing and......I dont know how to discribe it, I just think it is a lot of work and very difficult. Although its a good thought.

i believe that the half-blood prince might not actually be a half-blood himself or a prince, but a powerfull wizard whom the half-bloods depend on to destroy a fleet ov aliens unknown to the series untill now.

peace and love, my brothers (to avoid sexist comments - peace and love, my sisters)

I was thinking, is there an anagram (don't know how to spell that) of half blood prince? Maybe will that give us a clue.
On the subject of anagrams, there is another one I found very interesting,   "Dangerous" Dai Llewellyn Ward (where Mr Weasley was taken in St. Mungo's when he gotten bitten by the snake in OOtP, which is war dwells under Diagon Alley.  Thats two anagrams at St. mungos.  Coincedence?  I think not.
I haven't read all the other 980 entries either, but I have a theory.  I think Neville Longbottom has had a memory charm put on him, and this is the reason he keeps forgetting things.  That witch who got killed in the 4th book - I forget her name - had a memory charm put on her and she was always really forgetful.  I'm not necessarily suggesting Neville is the half-blood prince, but I reckon there's something being hidden from him by the memory charm.

ummmmmmm maybe jcherbstritt that sound something jkr would do

Actually it is a perk if you work at Bloomsbury and yes I do have a copy of the book, but do you really think that I would risk my job and tell you who the REAL Half Blood Prince is?!  No I was only joking but it sucks to be you because I really know who he is!! HA HA

thats a great thought jcherbstitt !!!!!

It opens up a new veiw of things but my guess is still godric griffindor but i cant really be bothered 2 type up the reasons why.

Quite like the theory on Neville, I do feel he has an important part to play in the forthcoming novel. When you think of the steps Dumbledore took in securing Harrys immediate future as a child it seems appropriate that Neville would have been in a similar position given what has happened to his parents. I think we will learn more of the the oath that Petuntia Dursley is being held to with regards to looking after Harry, and have a funny feeling she may even be a disgraced witch or former Death Eater who has been taken into Dumbledores confidence similarly to Snape. Still think the half blood prince will be Tom Riddell though, who must have undergone some change in becoming Lord Voldemort.
VERY interesting, i love the neville theory, very observeant. maybe neville is just like harry, neville acting courageous in book 5 could be something from his past but had been erased. (or maybe im just stupid, oh well)

back to the question i think it is dobby we don't anything abouts parantage and i don't think he's a full house elf  because dumbledore said that house elfs are bound by incantations of their kind so thay can't leave there masters without permission but dobby could do it anyway he had to nearly kill himself afterwards but he still did it and he was introduced in book 2 so it will fit

Can half-blood prince be a nickname? Then it could be everyone.
