Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Now that JK Rowling has officially named her next book who do you think is the half-blood prince?? I initally thought it could possibly be something to do with Neville Longbottom, but have since remembered that both his parents were wizards therefore he is full blood. Anyone any suggestions as to who it could possibly be??

His parents treat him like a prince and JKR said that they might develop their magical powrs later and considering his relations like harry and his aunt lily iy could be possible. Or Hagrid, but maybe thats a bit obvious. i also think that Voldemort has a brother. Read th section in CoS whenDobby is at Harry's house and Harry mentions Voldemort and asks if he has a brother, this actually could be metaphorical to Voldemort and Tom Riddele.Hmmm......confused
Don't you think that Tom Riddle is the half-blood prince? Voldemort likes to be called the dark LORD so he's into posh titles isn't he?! And when he is Tom Riddle, he is young and hasnt been totally absorbed by the dark arts - why couldnt he have had a different name for himself (i.e. the half-blood prince) before he went totally evil and turned into voldemort...
Does anyone think that Snape is a possibility? We don't know much about his history as of yet, and JK has said that she will reveal more in the next two books, so he could easily be half-blood. As far as the "prince" bit goes, the only two characters who possess any sort of royal status in the books are Voldemort and Dumbledore, so it would make sense that the prince would be a child of one of them. Snape has black hair like Tom Riddle and was once a Death Eater, so he could easily be related to (maybe even a son of--the ages work) Voldemort. He also has a hooked nose like Dumbledore, and Dumbledore trusts him for some mysterious reason, so the realation there is a possibility, though I find this more doubtful than the first theory.
okay-it's me posting again. i heard the JKR made a statement that the prince was not voldermort or harry. i think that it is going to be a character that we all kno about but doesnt play a realli big part, yet. i was tinking neville longbottom because in the 5th book he became brave and corageous beyond...well beyond my own personal expectations for him. However JKR has also stated that all the clues as to who the prince is were laid down in the second book (because she had originally planned for all these things to go into the 2nd book). Mark Evans isnt a contender. He was only in the 5th book...and if you can count thats NOT the 2nd book. Speculation is really going towards Neville though. I mean he is part of the big prophecy...he was born on the same day as Harry...and well...things are just pointing towards him. However...not disregarding JKR's clue that all her clues are in the 2nd book, i strongly believe that it is Seamus. He played a semi-large part in the 2nd book and always saying something that had to do with him being half blooded. And another opinion...ever thing about Hagrid?! Hagrid is half wizard half giant. So technically he is a half blood...just not half Muggle and half wizard. Just something to get your minds twiching. =)
It could be Tom Riddle. Remember at the end of CoS Harry says to Dobby I thought you said this didn't have anything to do with Voldemort and Dobby says something to the effect that technically it didn't. Setting up the technicality that JKR could be using when she says it isn't Voldemort. Having said that I don't think it's Riddle. Still haven't decided who I think it is. Maybe Colin. By the way wasn't there a third boy born in late July as Harry and Neville? Who is he?
Ok I have to say that right now i think the two best theories are Tom Riddle and Justin Flinch-Fletchley. As has been pointed out many times, Dobby didn't consider Tom Riddle; Lord Voldemort. And i dont think that was coincidence. Also in COS Tom doesn't know what happens to his later self, He finds out because of Ginny. Not to mention Lucious Malfoy has his memory (diary) right now! Will some one please help with JK Rowlings hidden site!
I think it's the beginning of book 4, where Harry sees in his dreams the murder of the old gardener? The gardener had been questioned 50 years or so before about the death of the Riddles, 2 adults and a teenage boy? I don't think it can be Tom Riddle who's the HBP....but that doesn't mean it can't be an adult who's the prince...Snape? Although I don't know how literal we're to take Half Blood...
Yes but Harry Saw the murder take place. It wasn't a premonition or anything. He saw Lord Voldemort Kill the gardener, Frank Bryce. And the only known surviver of the Avada-Kedavra curse is harry. So it sorta rules out Tom Riddle. Although like i said before Lucious Malfoy has Tom's Old Diary so maybe he'll do a past ressurection or something. On JK Rowlings site she says something to the effect of i cant tell you what happens if Tom Riddle was ressurected because it has to do with books 6 and 7. But I can say it would make Lord Voldemort Considerably stronger. So maybe Tom is ressurected somehow? If i hack this site i'll see what info it holds
