Lidle perfume priced at £3-99 has come out top when tested blindfold against Cocoa Chanel at £61, there was a massive 90% voted for the Lidle perfume, Bill has gone to get me some, will let you know, btw, he wasn't just going to Lidle's but to the Bank which is close..
I would imagine they will have honky-tonk (love the name btw)
but for £3-99 it's worth taking the chance on, there were some celebs on Mathew Wright this morning who were given two perfume sticks, one with the Chanel on it and the other with the Lidl one, all three went for the latter
I am not a shopping snob in any way. If I like something then I buy it regardless of whether it is cheap or expensive or where it comes from. I might just try Lidl's perfume. I use their face creams and quite honestly they are better than most of the expensive ones I have tried.
I have read that the Lidle perfume is similar to CK1 which I really like.
I remember being just a wee bit miffed when my French exchange brought me a bottle of Evening in Paris in 1960 which was on sale in Woolies here! I now like Estée Lauder's Intuition for daytime and Hermes' Eau des Merveilles for evening. However now that I too am retired, it will be Lidl for me too...
I'm afraid stuff like perfume doesn't come very high on my list of must haves these days .
I love Clarins Eau Dynamisante but it's a thing that goes on my Birthday and Christmas list now and I usually manage to get it :)
I'm happy with cheap and cheerful for every day as long as it smells fresh and clean and isn't overpowering .
To be honest I use Boots own brand Eau de Cologne to spash on in this hot weather .Lemony and fresh .
I'm off to Lidl on Thursday for Mr S's herrings and a frying pan so will have a shufti .
Father-in-law used to bring me a bottle of Chanel No 5 back from France every year. I can't stand the stuff so used to pass it on to my daughter in Birmingham. Only just found out that she didn't like it either so she gave it to her friend in London for Christmas. So the bottle went from France to Manchester to Birmingham to London. Would have been easier for him to drop it off at her friend's house on his way home.
My favourite is White Diamonds by Elizabeth Taylor (when I can get hold of it) and Opium.
Forgive me, honky-tonk, but one can have too many perfumes. Perfume has a shelf life of about 2 years, after which time it does go off.
Depends how its stored, amazingly i have a bottle of Chanel No 5, 10 years old still smells the same. Some of my perfumes have gone off, dark in colour and pongs like no other. I collect Vintage Perfume bottles so....
I'm trying to find an excuse for MrAsk to take me to Lidl now, need some sealable freezer bags, chocolate and I think toilet rolls are cheap this week. So I willl look for the perfume. Atm I have Coco Chanel Mademoiselle. I used to like Clinique aromatics, but it is so strong smelling when you first put it on you dont need much on.. I used to hate one perfume by Estee Lauder it smelt like cat pee, can't remember i'ts name, it was popular in the 80's
Had a rummage around Lidl Bobbi, surprise surprise they've sold out, bloke says they had a delivery on Monday and he's expecting another one today, might pop back tomorrow, just really curious to see what all the fuss is about, lol.
just goes to show what a bit of advertising on TV will do - I bought this perfume about 2 years ago and thought it was a bargain then and smelt lovely......
