Hair Dye Patch Test
Does anyone have experience of allergies to hair dye?
I was going to dye my hair today. I have done it before with no problems, using the same brand I was going to use today. I did the patch test two days ago as instructed. I have now got a scabby rash on the area I put the stuff on, so I suppose I mustn't use it. My question is, am I likely to have a problem with all brands of dye or just this one? Also, as I have used this one before with no problems, might the "allergy" - if that's what it is - go again?
I have no other allergies except for penicillin and nickel.
Thanks.

I would definitely do a patch test for any product you want to use. There is also the possibility that the formula of your hair dye has been changed.
"Scabby Rash" sounds more like a contact dermatitis than an actual allergy,

There was a woman on telly last year and she'd had a VERY violent reaction to the product she had used. Her face and eyes well all swollen up and she looked liked she's been battered in a 15 round fight with Mike Tyson . That was a VERY violent reaction. As others have said, try a different and more gentle product. Nice and Easy should be ok. Good luck Jo xx
