I also have never found a travel iron worth the bother, they just dont get hot enough, buy a cheap ordinary iron, the lightest you can afford. Most hotels will loan you an iron if you ask nicely. Dont know where you are off to but if abroad dont forget the adaptor for both and put all in your suitcase not your hand luggage.
