Try it and see!

Surely the hair that grows back would be the same as you have now?
Question Author
or maybe use medication after shaved?
I think you're on to a loser there to be honest.

thanks for that squarebear,
i dont want to cause argument, just after some constructive suggestions here.
The best thing you can do is have a hairstyle that makes fine hair look thicker and use a good hair product that adds volume to your hair.

I have heard that Kelp supplements can improve the health of your hair, but they won't make it thicker.

those wiggs very funcky lol

thanks lofty, love u xxx
The idea that shaved hair grows back thicker is a myth.

By the time you can see hair, it is alredy dead - it doesn't 'grow' in any real sense at all.

What heppens when you shave or cut hair is that the hair end has an angled edge which feels 'stubbly' and gives am impression of 'thickness', but that is simply not real.

Best advice is to see your doctor in case your thin hair is down to a medical condition which may respond to treatment.

thanks andy, i left mesgs on lil's post, do you mind i save your email as well, i think all your replies are very wise and copnstructive, cheers
Lots of difference between thin hair and fine hair mirela. You say you have fine hair. Fine hair means that each individual hair is very slender, but you can still have lots of hair (like me, in fact). Thin hair means that you have less hairs growing - the individual hairs themselves might be quite coarse, or fine. Does that make sense?

You say you have fine hair - is it thin a well, can you see your scalp through your hair and do you have areas that are quite bald?

If it is just fine hair and you have plenty of it you have nothing to worry about and you can't change it.
permanent colorants thicken hair by opening the hair follicles.

Seek advice from a hair salon for professional coloring.
I don't mind at all - thanks for the kind words.

i have fine hair too but lots of it. try growing your hair to different lengths. or why not go for a sleek hair cut to make the most out of your thin hair e.g. a sllek bob or a short elfin cut?

i'm naturally blonde and I dyed my hair brown once and the hair follicles seemed thicker, so maybe this could be an option for you?
Question Author
thanks for replies, unfurtunately i got thin hair as loftyloie said, thats why i have tried medications, but nothing happened:(((
i spoke to doctors from my home country before, and tried some liquid few years ago, but gave up in the end. so would be helpful i go to speak to my gp here? cheers
Yes, go and see a GP Mirela. You may be lacking a certain mineral or vitamin or have a medical condition that can be treated, as Andy says.

Some people recommend Kelp supplements or hair products, but I have just read something that says that kelp can make you ill, so best see a GP.

Putting some highlights into your hair and having it layered can make it look thicker. I am not a hairdresser, but would hair extensions work.

Good luck Mirela. Have a good weekend. x
serious answer mirela. do not shave your head, but trim the hair ends often, about once per month. it all depends though on how fast your hair grow.
I've got very fine hair, though not thin as such

I tend to go for layers to make it look thicker and colours and highlights which can also make a big difference.

Just make sure you get a good hairdresser who will talk everything through with you beforehand.

Could you use more volume inducing products and blow dry your hair to get some more volume in it?

Friends of mine (twins) have very thin hair, and when they puts waves in it it makes it look a lot thicker than normal.
I hink it maybe a old wifes tale that shaving your hair makes it grow back stronger - my father is a hairdressers and he did do it for me when i was younger and i do have really thick hair - but if your hair is already fine or thinning they i guess that idea is no good. have you tried the new Kerastase product http://www.getprettypretty.com/hair-care/keras tase/nutrients-densitive-supplements/

Phyto also have some very good thinning hair and hair loss products http://www.haircareheaven.co.uk/catalogue/phyt o/phyto-thinning-hair-and-hair-loss
