Bathroom Scales
7 Answers
Can anyone recommend really good bathroom scales. At the moment I am using Salter Maxiview. I have had them for about three years. They are supposed to be guaranteed for 15 years but needless to say I have junked the paper work and am probably too lazy to enter into any hassle anyway. They have never been very accurate but as an example this morning early I weighed 11stone 3 lbs. 2 hours later I weighed 11stone 5 lbs. Ten minutes later I weighed 11stone 1 lb. Very confusing. So from that I can only assume I weigh a few pounds over 11 stone. I would like to be more accurate so would welcome any suggestions. Except stop weighing yourself so often, you are obsessive! I only did this today so that I could illustrate my point.

I am a big guy and weigh more than the avaerge set of scales can manage so I went to a shop specalizing in scales, they sold every thing from small spring scale that a fisherman may use to scales to weighing trucks, (this was in auistralia but im sure he uk would have something in the yellow pages).
I purchased a set of medical standard digetel scales that can do eith pound or kilos and has 5 save buttons so the whole family can store he weight they were the equivelent of around 120 pounds 5 years ago, just need new batteries every year and they have never missed a beat, but still have lost much weight

I've got it on a level surface as far as I can see - in the shower room which is a wooden floor covered with non-slip lino stuff - probably rhinofloor or something like that. The weight showing has sometimes been as much as 7 lbs in a day - impossible I would think even if I ate a huge amount more than I usually do. I know I am obsessive about weighing and do it more than I should but even so I would expect it to be more or less the same, or nearly so. Thanks for your help everyone. As chris says, I may need to get professional help to choose.
