I've had quite bad allergies since I was 12 (22 years ago) and NOTHING I do will get rid of my dark circles. I could sleep all day for a week and I'd still have circles when I woke up. My diet is very healthy and I drink loads of water....no difference at all. I use a light reflecting concealer that does help cover them up a bit, but no cure I'm afraid.
The area underneath your eyes actually relates to your kidneys, so the more rubbish you eat, drink etc the worse they can get. Drinking lots of water can help to minimise them but wont get rid of them. Try doing some drainage movements with your finger tips working out towards your temples, if you do this when applying an eye treatment this can help considerably, also try an eye mask once a week, Clarins do one which is expensivish but will last you months as you don't need alot, also alot of people do not apply eye cream correctly and get puffy eyes as a result. You need to apply this on the bone around your eye and no closer as the skin is so delicate it does not need alot of moisture and ifyou apply to much product it will puff up and look worse. Like Nicola said one product wont work for all but the more expensive a product the more natural ingredients tend to be in them i never use cheap ones as i dont get anything from them to be honest but its your choice. Shop around on the net as expensive eye creams are cheaper on the net, i would certainly look at clarins eye gel which is around 10 but again will last you along time or decleor do some lovely aromatherapy based ones. Sorry to waffle on a bit, i used to be a therpaist so i can talk about this all day long if i could LOL. Good luck....
