as sqad says, whats worse, no sleep, or using a tablet to sleep each night?

I know which i would choose if nothing else worked
red....exactly.....I don't see the problem.
Question Author
I shall relay this to her sqad, this may be the answer after all
I have a terrible sleeping pattern, made worse last year from witnessing a suicide. I went to see my doc and he prescribed me sleeping tablets. I have never taken them as I am one of those idiots who doesnt want to get hooked on them. But as Sqad says no sleep is worse than having to take a pill every day!
vodka....hooked? do you mean addicted or dependant..........two different things?
Question Author
what is the difference sqad?
has she tried learning a relaxation technique, think you can get them on cd they helped my daughter
Bobbi....let's take sleeping tablets as an example..........

If you are dependant on them it means that if you don't take. then you cannot get to sleep.

if you are addicted to them, it means that you have to keep increasing the dose, doubling it, trebling it to get the same night's sleep, until the dose that gives you that sleep, may well be large enough to kill you.

That is sqad's definition.

arhhh thank you sqad..:-)
yes she has those CDs too I think they are Peruvian pipes?
I go to bed at about midnight really tired, fall asleeep for about two hours, wake up, and then wake up on and off all night between weird dreams and nightmares. As a result I am like a zombie until about 11.00am every day!! I hate mornings. I wake up more and more as the day progresses and feel wide awake in the evenings!!!
Sorry Sqad, I think I meant dependant
Lofty......that is the sleep pattern of a depressive disorder...........
No I dont mean bl***y pan pipes. I mean ones that talk you through the process of relaxation . When you are relaxed you will drop off or feel so laidback you are still getting rest. Worrying about not sleeping will make you not sleep.
I know Sqad. I take Citolopram, it has suited me better than others. I shall probably take it for life. It's not perfect, but I get by. I think I am more anxious than actually depressed though.
My GP will only prescribe sleeping tablets for a couple of weeks... Its like being thrown a lifebelt and having it snatched away again
i disagree with sqad (quel surprise)!
what he describes as addiction is medically known as tolereance
addiction is when you suffer physical consequences if you stop taking whatever :)
nice to see you back matey
Mine too Rowanwitch. However, any sleeping tablets make it virtually impossible for me to wake up in the morning at all!!
lofty...if you are on the 20mgm tablet......couldn't you take it at night?
bednobs....LOL
Lofty runs to look at the dosage on tablets >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

(well she shuffles actually)
