Egg Donation
26 Answers
I was wondering if anyone knew the process involving egg donation. I am considering it but I am a complete wuss when it comes to pain! I am hoping it can be done while I am knocked out! I have an appointment with my GP in a couple of weeks to discuss it but just wondered if anyone here had done it or looked into it?
Thanks so much :)

My mum is having a coronary over it but my brother has 1 toddler and another baby on the way. I love children but childbirth really, really scares me. It's an irrational, stupid fear but it has taken over my thoughts on having children. I know it sounds stupid and maybe I am being stupid but I can't seem to get over it. Therefore I would love to give someone who is unable to have children but really wants them, that chance.
You will make a couple very happy. My twins are from donated eggs.
It isn't too painful (if you can cope with injections).
Alfter blood tests to make sure you are suitable and you have enough egg production and counciling to make sure you flly understand the implications you will have daily hormone injections to boost egg maturity. Then scans to see how many you have then extraction.
This is done under anethsetic so shouldn't hurt.
If you feel you are leaving it too late for yourself you could alwayshave some frozen for yourself.

Vodka, I was petrified having my first (I was 31) and whilst I can honestly say it wasn't the best time I have ever had (I will spare you the details) it can't have been that bad as I went on to have more (and no, I didn't forget what had happened). I was petrified having the last too (had to have a c section) - I was crying so much when I got to the hospital they let me go first to get me out of the way because I was making such a bloody fuss.
You're not being stupid vodka and a lot of fear is about the great unknown and you do hear a lot of horror stories a bit like going to the dentist ! lol maybe if you are that scared talk to a therapist x
I really would hate to think what is hearsay would put you off having a child of your own and I know at the moment you think you are too old and it doesn't seem likely but around the corner there is always something new and exciting to look forward to so never say never x
