Do you know if there is a virus going around which is causing a daily headache? Two friends also seem to have this bad headache at the moment.
I have had a bad headache at some point of the day for 10-12 days running now and its quite worrying. I have been under a lot of family stress recently, rushed off my feet also doing a lot of typing on the computer, so it could be eye-strain. Its mainly on the sides of my head at both sides and it often feels like tight pressure, I have taken Ibuprofen but Paracetemols seem to work better, I only have 2 or 4 tablets a day as I know taking painkillers for a prolonged time can make it worse. I would have it checked out but it takes two weeks to get a doctors appointment in our area...............

I get seasonal headaches I think, as soon as the central heating goes on.
But you've got to keep warm. Lack of sleep can make you headachy and of course staring too long at computer screen and television.
I hope you feel better soon Ann. This time of year can be stressful.
like a knife stabbing the right side of my head

Thanks Cupid - yes it does seem worse when sitting in front of the fire, but I do really think its because I have been so busy, organising Christmas events in addition to some family stress. I can worry for England! I think all sorts of things, worrying that I'm really ill, that makes it worse I know ......

How would we know if its just a stress headache or something worse?
I would say if it's a tension headache it's usually, the back of the neck
If its eyestrain usually the forehead other than that I'm not medically qualified.
see how you feel in the morning and if your no better make an appointment to see your doctors.
mine is anxiety and a halogen heater.
also drink plenty of fluids, because getting dehydrated can cause headaches.
feet up , a nice warm drink, or something cold in a glass,( not if you have taken tablets) and try to relax. Try not to worry.
have you got a new perfume?

I get more headaches at this time of year due to the central heating being on more than the preceding months. I also get a lot less fresh air because the cold causes my asthma to worsen so I go out less and keep the windows closed.
I get awful sinus headaches, particularly when it's very cold and overcast Like today)...it's probably due to the air pressure. Being inside with dry heat doesn't help and quite often steam or a nice long shower helps.
I agree with those who say how important it is to keep hydrated - I quickly get a headache if I don't drink enough during the day.

The cold gives me a headache too, I have to keep my ears covered.

Think it may be some sort of virus, its dropped from my head to my tummy :) I seem to have tummy ache now, hope its not the dreaded Norovirus, had that 2 years ago and its awful ............think you are right about the heating in a closed up house, we don't have central heating but a radiant gas fire oin the lounge and convector gas heater in the hall which warms the entire house. I was out this afternoon after being in for several days and guess what? No headache!
