Advice Need Please.............my Daughter Heated Up Some Custard Tonight In A Plastic

bowl in the microwave. The bowl slipped and the hot custard went over her hand....mainly palm. I managed to get her to hold her hand under the running tap but it was only about five minutes. Her hand was very swollen and red and she was in extreme pain. the fatty part by the thumb at the bottom looked like it was going to blister. I then got her to put her hand in cold water for 15 minutes more. The redness and swelling has mainly gone but daughter says it is still burning and is feeling tight. Is there anything else she can do now. She did take some painkillers/ many thanks

Ring NHS direct, and see what advice they give you. Hope she is ok, it is painful, i once spilled a full chip pan of hot oil on myself, i was 11 years old. Luckily i was wearing shiny lycra and most of it slipped off. Give her paracetamol in the mean time.

If there is any blistering get her to the hospital, otherwise keep the area cooled.

A good first aid tip for burns and scalds is to rub a few drops of neat lavender oil into the affected area, believe me it works. I always keep a bottle in the kitchen.
