I started thurs evening with extreme tiredness and in the night I started shivering. Woke fri morning with a temp of 38 and aching muscles. Felt horrendous all day so slept as much as I could while looking after my baby! Yesterday I felt loads better just felt like I had a bit of a cold but then I started having diarrhea :( I took Imodium and it stopped it for about 7 hrs and now it started again!! I still have a sore throat and cough but I don't feel awful just finding it an inconvenience now! My symptoms seems to change every 24hrs. Is this likely to all be linked and be some random virus?

Sounds like 'flu to me. Plenty of rest and liquids. Paracetamol or Ibrupaphen. You should be feeling better by Christmas.

Thank you, looking at that it sounds like it could be. I just thought I'd feel horrendous the whole time with flu! Need it to go ASAP as on my own with baby until Xmas day
Sounds like flu - touch of gastric flu perhaps? Keep drinking, do as little as you can get away with. Not wanting to be miserable, but it'll be a good ten days before you start to feel yourself again :-(

10 days?! Oh no can't be doing with that! And thanks sqad, Random virus ha ha! Can I just treat it with Imodium? I feel hungry but too scared to eat :-/
\\\ Can I just treat it with Imodium?\\\

Yes, but with the other advice given by the above posts.
If it's flu, and I've had it twice (the last time, allmover the Millennium festivities) - you ache, you can't get inspired, you sleep and sleep and feel weak. Let's hope it's not, but each time I've had, it's been a fortnight off work before I felt remotely fit to resume.
