Hello,

I had both my Cataract operations last year. First in February, second in May.

For some time I constantly feel my specs need cleaning, as if they have finger marks on them when I know there isn't. I am constantly cleaning them.

Its painless, but unpleasant.. Has anyone else had this experience. My Mother needed Laser treatment some years after her Cataract ops I am wondering if this maybe what I might be heading for.

Thanks in advance

Get your optician to examine your eye.
The lens could be clouding over and you may need YAG laser treatment.
A very simple procedure.
No I haven't had cataract surgery, but what you are describing is a common complication.
It is no big deal and yes, it does sound as though you will need Laser treatment which should correct it.
Interesting. I get the same sensation on occasion but never (yet) had cataract surgery. I put it down to an illusion caused by the massive number of floaters I have. It goes after a short while anyway.

Thank you all for your replies. I have now spoken to my optician and will have an eye test next week to check it further.
I had to have Yag laser treatment following cataract surgery, when the implant started clouding up. It's very quick, completely painless, and corrects the problem instantly, so not to worry.
I had the same experience, Greenrook.
Several minutes in the doctor's office and it was done.
Great vision again, after the procedure.
Just a thought you might want to consider. I know exactly how you feel because I have been suffering blurred vision too for many months. With mine it is worse sometimes than other times. I thought this may be to do with how tired my eyes were or reading conditions because it could be sporadic. I also thought it might be to do with my little problem of a brain tumour.

Anyway I also suffer from high blood sugar and am on diabetic medication. I know diabetes can cause blindness but apparently this takes ages, maybe years. What I didn't know and have since found out though is that high blood sugar levels can affect vision. It isn't clear yet that this is what is causing mine but since changes to medication, mine has improved slightly. Might be worth checking your levels.

Just an update on my eye worry.

I had another eye test yesterday, and my eye sight has altered quite a bit in one eye and less so in the other.

No other medical reason for my problem, just wear and tear at the back of the eye. Getting old too fast it seems.

I have had to order new specs even tho I had new ones last October.

Hope the next pair last longer.

Thanks for your input.
