Colonoscopy
4 Answers
Friend is having one on Monday - she is a bit wired up and is saying because she is epileptic she may refuse sedation as she is afraid of not waking up.
I had an endoscopy about 10 years ago and it was uncomfortable enough - I know a few people here have had the colonoscopy - could you explain what happens - hospital has told her to bring a dressing gown and slippers - didn't think that was needed. A wee bit of enlightenment please - thank you.

Telĺ your friend to relax as much as possible, bar the usual anxieties she'll be fine.

It will be over in a trice for her, and a lovely relaxed sleep. I still recall after 12 years how gloriously relaxed I was afterwards......and very, very farty. Comedy farts. I think the surgeon does it for a giggle, but basically all the air they use to inflate the bowel so they can see, comes out. In dribs, drabs and parps.
