For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.2-3 lb is too much to be aiming for, research shows the slower weight comes off the longer and better chance you have of keeping it off. Also from doing weight watchers and setting my own goals too high, i beat myself up if i dont lose what i want and it makes me overeat, so i now set myself the goal of a loss each week, so maybe you should say maybe 1-2lb per week.
good luck
I agree with boobesque, you really should stop trying to force yourself to lose weight, it never really works. There is a better way - see my reply to an earlier question: http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Body-and-Soul/Question187950.html
I see questions like this all the time. It seems that either
a) people don't know there's a straightforward, sensible and healthy way to eat that will result in weight loss (if you are indeed overweight), or
b) people are so taken in by the diet industry's constant advertising, nagging and brainwashing that they feel that have to carry on the grim task of dieting, even though it generally results in failure (and nearly always in misery).
Give yourself a break, rebajayne - just eat a varied and healthy diet (the correct way), stop agonizing about calorie intake, stop checking the scales every morning, and stop being hard on yourself. And take it from me, men like women to be curvy anyway! Don't be a stick insect! Ugh!!
I following the SW diet last year and steadily lost 1-2lbs per week. I found following the `Green` days worked for me. Most of my meals consisted of quorn or omelettes, and still had the odd bar of chocolate. It helped exercising and being more active for me. You can get loads of good info if you stay for the classes. Good Luck, x
