Wind in pregnancy
5 Answers
I'm 3 months pregant and just recently started to get my morning sickness except it's not really the normal sort of nausea. My problem is that I have a lot of wind throughout the day and am constantly burping and feeling sick with it. It's not trapped wind and there's no problem getting it up but nothing seems to get rid of it (tried rennies, eating slowly, small, frequent meals instead of one big one in the evening etc) and sometimes I burp so much I end up gagging which then makes me wretch. At first I was just throwing up bile but now my food is coming up too and sometimes brushing my teeth sets it off. It's always worse in the evening. I'm getting really fed up with it but I don't know if there's anything I can do to help it? Any ideas?

I'm sorry to say over the next few months you will discover what it's like to burp and break wind like a real man!
We were talking about this on the Bounty website... so many women are going through exactly the same thing!
I use tums.. they really help, - You'll soon start to feel better hunni, try eating little & often and stick to foods that aren't spicy or have a high acidic content.
Pop over to www.bounty.com - see which Due month you fit in to and you'll be able to discuss your pregnancy problems with ladies who are going through exactly the same thing. (I'm in the due Nov board and Older mums - I'm 33, I didn't realise I was soooooo old lol)
hope you feel better soon x

Hi helliebobs. Congratulations on the pregnancy. I too had terrible wind when i was pregnant, the constant burping was soooo annoying! I had a gaviscon like product prescribed by the doctor, it was liquorice flavour (which usually i wouldn't mind) but taking it used to make me gag! It did help with the burping and heartburn tho...xXx
