I have an ingrown toenail, and i'm going to have surgery to just remove a sectionof the nail, not the whole nail.

Has anyone had this done...and what does it look like?

Hi, Don't worry,

My friend had it done, and she is kind of left with like, a half sized toe nail. But you can't notice. she is really paranoid though and put's fake toe nails on!! they look fine but then again, so does her toe without, it's just her being insecure.

Good luck, you'll be fine. xx
Yes - I had the borders of my two big toes' nails done in 1987. The doctor removed less than a half-inch from either side - barely noticeable. Best procedure I ever had done - suffered for years from ingrown toenails that often made it quite difficult to walk. No troubles now. Good luck!
It's called a wedge cut for (obvious reason). I do them quite alot and the nail usually grows back normal. It will take a few weeks but eventually it will even itself out.
