Endometriosis

Was wondering if anyone knows much about this? Its a bit embarrassing but sometime when I have sex with my man, I get severe pain. Not all the time but when it happens sweat runs off my body, I don't understand it. Its so sore for about 15 mins and then goes away. Has anyone else experienced this?

Anyway, I had read a leaflet about Endometriosis and the symptoms sound similar. I spoke to the nurse about it and she made me do a urine sample to check for Chlamydia, she said it was just in case. This has come back negative so I'm a little worried.

Miss Lilly I really think you need to see a doctor. I have had quite a few similar problems and have also been checked for Endometriosis another very common symptom is heavy periods. If you do have Endometriosis there are things that can be done to help releive symptoms but it shouldn't be left you really need to get looked at by a Doctor. I know it's not nice but Doctors have seen it all before!

The nurse most likely did a check as perhaps some of the symptons you describe could also be symptons of chlamydia which I believe can lie dormant in the body for some time. Hence why she said she was checking just in case.

One of my exes had it and needed an op. Don't know what the symptoms are but they stopped her period while she was recovering and turned into a gf from hell due to the hormone imbalance! Good luck!
PS get it checked out before it gets out of hand because if it gets out of hand you might need to have your reproductive organs removed.

Book an appointment with the Doctor asap. My neice has just been diagnosed as having endrometriosis which is when parts of the lining of the womb leak into other parts of the body (in her case her pelvic area). These also bleed when you have your period which is why heavy periods are often associated with endrometriosis. My neice was in such severe pain they rushed her down to theatre to whip her appendix out only to discover it wasn't that at all. You really need to get this checked out. Glad it wasn't chlamydia but you do need to find out what this is. Good luck.

I also suffer from this. A few years ago was rushed into hospital with severe stomach pain, had my appendix removed but i had a massive cyst on my right ovary which they removed and the ovary! Still have very painful periods and there is a risk i will suffer with more cysts, hope not!

Hiya Lilly. I was diagnosed and had treatment for endometriosis in October. Mine was not dramatic but I always had very painful, heavy periods which even being on the pill didn't help and then I started having pain when having sex sometimes. I went to the gynacologist about something else cos the doctors had always just said it was just how my periods were. He suggested I have an small operation to get checked out, I did, and I have it. I had some bits of endometriosis removed and now I can have pain free sex again! YAY!! Also, at the age of 26, have had my first ever period where I didnt have to eat painkillers for 3 days solid.

Go and get checked out. If you go to your GP you may have to suggest endometriosis as in my experience it's not something they will think off (hopefully your gp will be more up on it than any of mine have been). It might be helpful to make a list of the symptoms you have cos when they are rushing to get to the next patient you might forget. If nessessary ask to be referred to a gynacologist. Its a very difficult disease to diagnose and the only sure way to diagnose it is to have a small operation called a laparoscopy.

I was looking for this before but only just found it. This is an excellent site. This info is designed for your first appointment with a gynacologist but some bits may be useful to take to your GP to help show them how endo symptoms are similar to yours. Maybe not but just a thought x
