Hi, my daughters neighbour had a baby 2 weeks ago, she has just found out that herself and her baby have Strep B and both are poorly, her baby is losing weight and looks ill, they have been to the hospital again and they havent been put on any antibiotics and have both just been left to get on with it, surely this cant be right, is the baby at serious risk?

Not enough information.
Do you mean beta haemolytic streptococcus, if so which strain, how do you know and where is the infection?

The hospital should know what it is doing.
My daughter was found to have a strep infection during labour with her first son,she was put on an antibiotic drip. She and the baby were not allowed to leave hospital until both tested negative for the infection.
