The previous "Weight Gain" thread can be found here
I thought I'd set this up for everyone here as the other thread no longer appears in the latest posts box.

The last discussion was about ways to do exercise

Personally, I like running, cycling and squash - but I know one day I will have to give some of these activities up as I am plagued with "Dodgy Knee Syndrome".

Also, for those who exercise a lot, do you ever feel you are doing so just to justify the awful things you consume the rest of the time?

I hope everyone reports in okay! Good luck! And click here to subscribe by email!

Thank you Notafish. I am going for a chinese buffet meal tonight then will have to be good up till next wednesday .I won't be drinking as I still have to drive over to my daughters then go in her car.Onwards and Downwards
Got to my first half stone lost on wednesday. Yippee.
Sorry, I should have said onward and downward (not upwards)
Yummy!! Have a lovely time Wendilla!
Well done TheOtherHalf.
O and D
Thank you Notafish and well done The otherhalf.Well I dread to think what the scales will say on wednesday after my birthday night out. Didn't really go over the top but had lots. Then I saw my son with this plate of stuff and I said whats that and he said merangue cream and fruit so it was what is called Eton Mess. Never tasted it before but my legs took me over to the row where it was just could not stop them. Anyway that's what it is all about to have that treat then get back on track.Did not have any drink just diet coke and half a glass of wine as I had to drive. So Onward and Downwards again.
Good for you Wendilla. I can see you enjoyed yourself. You know that one treat is not going to undo all that you have worked for and you can enjoy it with a clean conscience which we couldn't do a year ago could we.......well what I mean is before we started this downward journey.
I'm glad that you had a lovely time.
Hi everyone - I am rubbish at the moment which is why I've not been back. I had a virus and felt lousy and just ate everything. Put on a few lbs - but am now trying again to be good. If I can I would still like to lose 6 lbs by Christmas. I have feeble excuses which don't hold water.......
Hi Boxtops it is not easy when you are poorly but now you have the will to get back on track. You don't need to go on a strict diet to lose weight believe me over the years I have tried them all and get so miserable then you give up and go back to where you started. You know what to do just eat healthily and cut out the fat and the crap and onwards and downwards you will go.
Yes XSTITCHER because I have achieved nearly what I set out till oct I did not feel guilty as I knew I would go back on track and it gives you that boost to have that treat.
We don't eat fat or crap............what a good way to put it Wendilla.

Onwards and downwards.
I've had an up and down sort of a week, so I'm not sure if I've lost any weight. I expect my weight won't have changed this week. And I haven't done any exercise. :-(
Has anyone any tips on avoiding a bloated tummy?
Good luck for tomorrow everyone :-)
Good Morning Ladies
well I am pleased to say that after my birthday night out bash and breakfast at Asda on Thursday I have stayed the same. But I was back on track after that and I will have to be good in case it catches up with me.So ladies it proves you can have that special treat as long as you get back on track. I am now aiming for the other stone before Xmas. Good luck to you all and Onwards and Downwards.
morning all

Ive had a good week, except Sunday we had sunday lunch and a pint at a nice little pub about 7 miles away. We did cycle there are back, so hopefully that will have worked it off. Weighing in tonight at SW, so fingers crossed. xx
Good luck everyone :>)
Hi Wendilla, well done for staying the same after your treats this week. I've stayed the same (as I predicted). I didn't do any exercise, so it's understandable. I think the reason I've had a bloated tummy is because I've had more coffee than usual this week. Has anyone any other ideas on avoiding bloating? O and D everyone, good luck!
Hi all, a bit disappointed as I don't seem to have lost anything the past week :-(
Is there a low calorie casserole stock you can buy as I want to make a chicken casserole, but not seen any in the supermarkets?
Hi Trt I will probably get slated for this from some but I don't believe in low calorie meals. I do keep a couple in freezer just for if I am late back. I do use low calorie yogurts. As for stews I make lots of them in my slow cooker and don't use any low fat stuff in it . It is the amount you eat that counts. I have been on these all low calorie meals and it never worked for me. I do have unsweetened grapefruit every morning but some people on tablets can't drink it .My motto is cut out the fat and the crap and onwards and downwards you will go.
Notafish good luck on your weigh in
I wonder where Xstitcher is.
Whoops! I did weigh myself very early yesterday morning and decided to wait until later to report in and forgot!!!!!

Well the result was "just the same, can't complain".

Chicken casseroles or any casseroles are good at this time of the year. With your chicken remember to remove the skin. I am with Wendilla about not paying much attention to calories. It's the low fat (6% and under) that give good results and quite often the calories and higher fat go hand in hand.

Onwards and downwards ............
Well I most certainly have to be good now . As family are all going out this xmas day for dinner I needed something new . I wasn't looking yesterday but walked into this shop and just saw it . I could have got away with a 14 top but I don't like clingy tops so had the 16 and it is a loose style anyway but got away with the 14 skirt to match in dark blue but I could get a black skirt as well as the top has a black insert so I would have 2 outfits. See you all Wed.
Wendilla, that sounds good. I'm looking forward to Christmas. I've been being greedy this week. Now I have only a couple of days left to try to undo it. It's harder not to snack when it's dark and cold weather.
Good Morning All,
I'm pleased to tell you that I have gone down 1½ pounds which is a nice turn of events.
I'm not really looking forward to the Christmas eating because I won't be able to pig out on the dressing from my turkey. We'll be on our own this year as none of the children can make it, credit crunch and new babies have messed up that, but we don't mind as we have done it before, but I may catch your positive Christmas vibes Notafish and Wendilla.

I'm looking forward to see what your results are today.

Onwards and downwards..................
Hi XSTITCHER well done .Don't worry about xmas that can be rectified as you can't be miserable at xmas but you can be careful with the portions and not over indulge. We are all going out for first time this xmas day . Well it's another 1 lb so now I am just 1 lb short of my gaol I was aiming for at the end of Oct. So I am still carrying on for another stone to get to the 12 stone mark and under before xmas. Hope you are keeping well so it's onwards and Downwards for next week still cutting out the fat and the crap.
