Husband Still In Hospital

Hi, some of you might know that my OH went into hospital before Xmas and he is still there.
He caught pneumonia and is having his stomach drained to get rid of the fluid that is accumulating there. He's still not very lucid. Will this improve when the pneumonia is treated successfully?

Difficult times for you chrissa....he is an ill man and has been for a long time with a multiplicity of medical problems all challenging his body resources as the same time. Diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, hypertension, an undiagnosed back condition and now the onset of pneumonia.

The draining of his "stomach" fluid is significant of many disorders,any one of which could have serious consequences.

I do not know what type of pneumonia it is nor do I know what organism or organisms that are invading his lungs, so I cannot say if his condition can be "turned around"

im sorry to read chrissa that OH is no better, are you still getting updated re his condition from doctors and nurses, remember dont be afraid to ask ? something you mentioned about his lifestyle in the past, i wonder if that has any reason why his stomach is being drained., keep us posted.. anne
