Hospital waiting times

Hello

Does anyone know whether you can find out how long your local hospital's waiting list time is? (Without ringing them and asking!)

My GP doesn't know and I've tried looking on tinternet but can't find anything.

I know that in Ireland there is a 12 month waiting list for abortions!!

My casualty always has 3 hours waiting time. Even if it only takes 20 mins...

Why don't you want to ring and ask. I rang my local hospital and they told me straight away.

You don't have to speak directly to the hospital staff to get the latest information on waiting lists at Calderdale Royal Hospital (which, I'm guessing, will be your local hospital).

Instead, phone PALS (the Patient Advice and Liaison Service, which is independent of the medical teams) on 01422 222417.

If you know which consultant you have been referred to, ring her/his secretary. They will be able to tell you .

I have tried ringing before and they are very unhelpful. My GP didn't have a clue as to their (or any other) waiting list times.

It is for a hysterectomy. At Calderdale Royal.

I rang my local clinic to ask how far down the waiting list I was for day surgery, for a very painful foot which is causing other problems. I was told that I am 87th on the list, and the list was 18 months, and since I have been waiting 8 months, I only have another 10 months to go - I feel totally deflated, and now wish that I was none the wiser!!!
