I have to have three more weeks of radiotherapy, daily from Monday to Friday. I have been told that I need to buy myself some Factor 50 suntan/protector. It should not have any metals in it I have been told because of the radiotherapy I am receiving. Does anyone know please which brand I should buy?

The consultant told me today that my scan revealed no other locations for the cancer. It is just in the lymph glands in my neck on the opposite side to where it was before. I will be put onto tablets which are a low dose chemotherapy. These will be long term. I was told that there is no cure for this cancer, but I will be offered palliative care. With the tablets, the cancer should be kept at bay. Keeping positive will help me to fight it. My answerbank friends are special. They keep me going through thick and thin. :-)
I am so glad there is no sign of further spread and with that treatment I hope you have a good quality of life, with your positive outlook and beliefs to guide you along. We are always here for a natter or joke (not too good on stand up me though). Take care Moyra ♥

oh thank you mamyalynne :-)
Hi Moyra - have only just seen your latest - apologies. I hope you don't mind but I told my friend about you. He is a psychic and does a lot of healing for people. He has marked and recorded successes. He only needed to know your first name. Funnily enough I saw him Thursday lunchtime and he has done that for you. Please do not be offended - I just consider this to be more positive thinking. He is a lovely person, very kind, caring and genuine. Whatever might help you is good in my book, I just hope you agree. I will continue to keep you in mu thoughts and prayers. Viv ♥

No problem at all ttfn. Very kind of you to be thinking of me and I would never turn down a kind offer like that. I feel so happy thanks to the kindness of all around me. :-)
It is because we care and quite a lot of us know to some extent what you are going through. I think the warmth you get from others at times of need really does give you extra strength.
I am really pleased to read your reply, Moyra, and will now tell you that there was a group of 10 psychics concentrating on you at the same time. This thread has become the epitome of ever increasing circles and I am delighted that helps you. Sweet dreams, Viv ♥

It was my absolute pleasure, Moyra, I amaze myself occasionally;)
Hi Moyra :) Just wondering how your week has gone? Hope you are still feeling buoyant, Viv x

Hello :-) Yes I'm still here. I'm very busy at the moment as I'm trying to get things sorted out now while the going is good. I've been out a lot too, seeing friends and going to car boot sales, fetes, sitting in my favourite cafe and meeting up with friends. I'm enjoying going to work as it keeps life normal. Telling people how I am when they ask me 'how are you?' is one of the worst aspects of it all. I don't want to lie to people. My dear Mum sent me a beautiful card with lovely words in it and I've also heard from friends who have written to me. All very consoling and a great strength. :-) I'm now using the Parker Pen I bought when I was aged nine. I never used it before because I was frightened of losing it. It cost me fifteen shillings forty years ago. What an investment! It still works beautifully.
Moyra your positivity is a lesson to us all, pack your days with as much fun and joy as you can. It certainly sounds like you have very good friends too, that is a real bomus.

I adore to use a fountain pen feels so special, lots of love.

Lynne
Hi Moyra - the difference now, hopefully, is that you dont get the ink all over your fingers. Fountain pens are lovely, get a good one and it will serve you right <see what I did then? - right/write? Suit yourselves, lol>

Hang on a mo please whilst I get the calculator out

You are only a young 'un then - compared to Mamya ;) lol, I am sooooo going to pay for that ;)

Do you get 'mates rates' on the postage stamps, btw?

Just keep up the positivity you are showing on this thread Moyra - I am really enjoying your updates. Take care and enjoy proper writing - no LOLs please! Viv ♥

message especially for ttfn and mamyalynne. Actually it is an old Parker ball point pen, not a fountain pen. Sorry to disappoint you. It has a silver barrel at the top and Parker arrow clip and a red bottom barrel. It is so precious to me. Re postage perks, yes we are given about £15 worth of first class Christmas stamps each year. I recently sent a Special Delivery item and stuck loads of them on it and saved myself having to pay for it. Today is not a good day. I now have quite a bit of pain in my side. Thought it was back ache, but it's more in the front. Have a dear postie friend coming to see me from miles away this morning though and don't want to miss that, so will pretend the pain isn't there just for today.
I do hope you are getting good palliative care for the pain, never hide it from the professionals - no need to bear it when you can get help. So glad you have pal to visit. Great to chat one to one with someone.

Lynne ♥
Hello Moyra :) Sorry to read about the pain you have at the moment. I agree with Mamya (who wouldn't?!) At the outset, pain management may appear a little hit or miss but it has to be constantly reviewed and you must be honest about it. Never be afraid or worried to tell them how you feel - they need all that info from you as well as blood results etc.

Hey - I had a Parker like that too - love writing with nice pens, whether fountain, ink or the modern gel pens. I spend a fortune on them - yes I write as much as I gabble, lol.

Moira - at the risk of repeating myself, if you like dogs do have a look at one of my better attempts at story writing here:

If you don't like dogs - just bookmark the page, it may help if you ever get insomnia ;) I presume some posties may like dogs - just not the ones they may have had to run from. I have never had any dog attack my posties, btw. They (the dogs) have always been as amenable as am I lol.

tbh, I hope your days are currently far more enjoyable than reading my mad jottings ☺☺☺

I am currently having a week's tlc at my Big Sis's in the countryside on the edge of the New Forest. I am the younger of the 2 of us (naturally, with my better looks - yeah, right!). Not a lot happening here to write about, which is why you are offered recycled postings ;) Hope things soon improve for you soon. Take care, Viv ♥
