I have to have three more weeks of radiotherapy, daily from Monday to Friday. I have been told that I need to buy myself some Factor 50 suntan/protector. It should not have any metals in it I have been told because of the radiotherapy I am receiving. Does anyone know please which brand I should buy?

You write so well and I could just picture the events as though I'd been there myself. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your stories. Dogs are so loyal to us and devoted. I've never had one of my own as I'm out all the time! What a horrendous thing happened with the camper van and your foot! I'm not in a lot of pain, but I just struggle to get in and out of bed because there's something not right with my stomach muscles. Things go twang! I feel about aged 90 sometimes. I always sang to the dogs on my delivery round. I sang a special song for each dog and always got to know them when they were puppies if possible. I had an Old English Sheepdog (boy), an Anatolian shepherd (girl), a black labrador, a Miniature Schnauzer and two Border Terriers. The owner of the Border Terriers always knew when it was me coming up the path as they barked at a higher pitch when they knew who it was.
I haven't got one yet. You're right though, I think I would be given one if I asked for it. Another thing to do. I'm being very organised for me though. Today I started planning my thanksgiving service for when I'm gone. Just trying to get things done in advance. Tomorrow I'll go to see my solicitor, to try to get my will written more accurately. Once all these things have been done, I can then relax and enjoy life again.
I am so glad you smiled Moyra - this is one of the nicest things about AB. You can just call me me Viv, I answer to many names, but that is my real one :) You certainly had some great dogs on your rounds, but it did not surprise me that you liked dogs - too much country girl in you I noticed! Don't worry about starting a new thread. I am sure Aya will not mind if I show you this:

It is a very long one but if you skip through a bit you will see how it runs. If anyone did a simple search for say 'ttfn - answered Q's' it would show that I have recently answered both this thread and Aya's. Same would happen if they put in your AB name. However, if they click on my profile and look at my recent answers these threads will not show because of the passage of time and that there are many more I have been on since yours was posted. Long live the subscribe button - shows me who was the last to post here - brilliant stuff.
Once hooked, some of us (yep Mamya and Viv) will never lose the thread - the plot 'yes' - the thread 'no' ;) So there really is no need to post a separate one to keep us informed. Aya did similar but her original is the journal now.

Good thinking on the will front, too. I sorted mine out some time ago, it does give one peace of mind (which is far preferable to a piece of my mind☺).
Beat you on the Thanksgiving one too. Over many years, I have written a few for others. I once gave notes to the vicar who hardly knew my friend. I wrote little anecdotes to show how he had done kindnesses, had a good sense of humour (he was not renowned for them, unfortunately) and followed his career. Of course I wrote in my normal fashion. At his service the vicar started talking about him and I realised to my entire surprise that he was reading my notes verbatim. I tried to slip out of sight by sliding down the pew but there was not enough room for my bulk. I was so pleased though when I realised the congregation started to chuckle - that meant I had conveyed what my friend really was like.
I decided to do my own to save anyone else the worry and to make sure I said what was important to me. Or perhaps I was just worried what they would say about me - lol.
Mamya is right again about the palliative care team. Always tell them what causes you problems in everyday life as well as your pain levels. There may be particular items or aids that can help you at home too. You should never worry about telling them such things as this part of their brief to make life as good as possible for you.
The sunrise is particularly pretty today - a pink sky too. We have a sunny day forecast, with cooling temperature, but dry. Hope Cambs gets similar.
I echo what Mamya says too - you should know that by now, Moyra ♥

Hello again AB friends! Yes I am still working. I do two hours of post sorting Tue to Sat from 7am to 9am. I love the early mornings. The birdies sing in the trees and sometimes a few dog walkers are about at 6.30am. About three doors away from work is Barker's Bakery cafe. I buy myself a newspaper and go to the cafe at 9am. I have a drink and a roll and try to read the paper. I have lots of lovely friends and acquaintances in Histon so get to talk to lots of people. I admit that I sometimes do a big wave at the Citi8 bus as it goes past even though I haven't seen anyone I know on it! I usually get a wave back from quite a few people on it but also a lot of embarrassed people on the Citi8 bus look the other way becuase they don't know who I'm waving at. You see I can be mad too! ;-)
Hi Moyra (half of the double act here LOL) So glad you are keepign your hand in at work, sounds just right doing your shift and then off to the Bakery for a chill.
Love the thought of you waving randomly at the bus, as children we used to walk to a nearby brook to catch sticklebacks and it was by the train line (real trains) and we always waved at them , they would toot at us too, happy memories.
Keep smiling, best wishes.

Morning Moyra :) I waved at the passengers in the hot air balloon that went over Big Sis's at 7.35 a.m. today - nerner, lol. The puppy lurcher was standing beside me and all was well until the pilot fired the burner - one scared 4-legs shot indoors. Bless her. The sun is shining, the sky is a pretty blue and we have done the 3 main crosswords from today's papers early - bonus points. The cars need a good valet and wash, then just the country hedge to finish trimming - on the field side. I may be longer than Captain Oates ... Hope your weather is lovely too and that you are feeling free from pain once more. Take care, Viv ♥
Hi Moyra. Hope you have had better weather than I have had - there has been flash flooding in Bournemouth. I chose today of all days to book my car in for its MOT and walked to and from walk. Not one of my better decisions! But a bit of rain won't hurt me, I am sure. It is a shame though for the Bournemouth Air Show which started today. Last year the weather was chronic too and they lost the first 2 days of it, as I recall. However, the forecast is for much better weather tomorrow so that will be something to look forward to, fingers crossed.
NB I have not followed Mamya around today ;)
Take care, Viv ♥

Hi Moyra
But I may be following Ena around lol, very dark and grey here. Do hope you have been able to get your pain under control. Do you have family nearby at all or at least someone to help if needed? Nosy bugger aren't I?
Stay as strong as possible and rest when required, sending all positive feelings to you. Speak soon.
Love Lynne ♥

Moyra - take it from me, Mamya and I are of the nicest possible kind of nosy parkers. We appear to have similar thoughts at similar times (as you will see) but do work quite independently. Headwrecck is not half bad either :)
Pleased to report that today is gloriously sunny in Bournemouth, once more.
I am praying you are doing better and have got a few things sorted to your satisfaction now. Sending you all my best wishes, take care, Viv ♥

Well - I have had a lovely day that I would like to share with you. My car passed its MOT with no work required. That means so much to me as,. although I can just walk to work and do some shopping in my lunch hour, I am stymied if I can't get to visit my sister - there is no actually pulic transport door to door. I always worry that she will have a problem and I cannot get to her in less than half an hour. We are both on our own now and we only have each other. So that is a reason to celebrate for a start. I have completed a full week at work - wonders will never cease - and have got more done each day/ My honour is satisfied. Royal Mail are wonderful and have delivered me a super surprise today that has warmed my very heart. The weekend unfolds before me with renewed hope and pleasures - I shall be off to Big Sis's tomorrow morning. Sorry if this is all about me - (not really) and I do hope that you too, Moyra, have things to enjoy this weekend and look forward to. Hope you like the song - it is a particular favourite of mine, cheery and appreciative at the same time. Take care, love Viv ♥
