Ill run out over the bank holiday...
Called docs to ask for it to be on repeat as ive to take regularly..
She said ill prob have to go in to be seen by doc - just waiting on a call back!!
Once when i was just taking them as and when i called for more and was denied...
Was wondering why they are more difficult
To obtain? Theyre not controlled drugs are they!?
Not moaning!! I dont mind popping into be seen at all.....just curious ??? Xx

Stopping them abruptly and missing one or two days are quite different in that in the former you do not intend to start them again and in the latter, you have just been careless.
No idea why he wants to see you, unless there is financial reward for taking you BP. OR.....he wnats to run his stethoscope over your .....chest.;-)

I'm wondering if GPs are getting more concerned about being sued over an error that they are are not confident in giving out repeats so freely. I was prescribed propanalol for anxiety about 10 years ago and the dose was up to 3, 3 times a day! I was also given a repeat prescription that lasted for a year before I had to go back and see GP. I never took more than one a day normally (2 on a bad day). Last year I had to move to a new GP in a new area and he'll only let me have 28 at a time. TBH that's OK with me now as I like to know they're there just in case rather than take them.
I once did a survey of someone in our household who was taking propranolol. After taking it the pulse rate was checked every half hour. What surprised me was the very short active life of the drug. Within about 4 hours most of the drug has lost its effectivesness and the pulse resumed climbing.
To miss it for 12 hours would have put the pulse rate as it began. I'd hate to think if you missed it for the whole bank holiday weekend
