Are there any methods of contraception that stop your periods completely?

Aside from the pill and not taking a break every month? (which i do now)

Thanks xx

I had no side effects.
Cerezette is a 'mini-pill' and is taken continuously. It also lightens or stops periods. If using for contraceptive purposes, you need to take it at around the same time everyday and as soon as you stop taking it/take it too late/miss a tablet then you (according to the PIL) will need to use another method of contraception. It can take a month or two for your system to adjust to it so don't panic if you have a heavier or longer period the first month. The same will apply if you stop and restart.
I wish I had known about it sooner, I used to suffer really badly and these made such a difference.
I was told by my doctor that the bleeding that you have when on your week off is an 'artificial' bleed (ie not the same as during your natural cycle) as it was decided, when the original pill was developed, that women would prefer to still have them!
I had the depo injections and didn't have a single period for five years. No other side effects either. I haven't had it for 6 months now and my period still hasn't returned but it can take up to two years I think.
again with the depo injection - after 5 weeks of spotting when i forst started it i didnt have a period while i was on it and for 9 months after
I was on depo and didn't have any periods. The last time I came off it was a long time before I had any periods again.
My daughter had the coil and never had a period for the 2 years she had it fitted.
I had Mirena coil a few years ago and didn't see a period til it was taken out.
The Mirena coil either stops periods or makes them much lighter (there is another thread about it). I had mine to stop excruciatingly painful periods and although I was warned it might take time to work it did instantly.
I was just going to say that Rocky.
Yes ive got the Mirena coil, dont have any periods. You have it changed every five year. xx
Depo was fantastic as well for me, no periods n just a prick every 12 wks lol x
can make periods heavier or lighter or stop altogether but most people I have known on it as well as myself periods did stop.
Forgot to mention my experience with the coil years ago which can make periods heavy.
I went for my check up and Doc told me good job you are herr today because it has moved !!!! OMG
oddly 4get, history says that you are wrong and women were not meant to have so many periods. Women of the working classes would marry much younger, would bear a child, breastfeed it (which makes pregnancy unlikely), and almost immediately it was physiologically possible, become pregnant again. Its likely that they would have less than one period a year, maybe none at all for most of their fertile years.
It wasn't until
