Patient Transport

Does anyone know the criteria for eligibility? It can't be down to benefits as I have a wealthy friend in West Yorkshire who is attending a hospital in Sheffield and patient transport (a taxi) is provided.

I agree with the first half of the sentence but not the rest as it seems to me it was sqad who went off the subject.
Yes, there is a debate to be had about funding transport (and car parking) costs related to NHS care. I think sqad makes some very valid comments on AB about NHS spending, inefficiency and excess in an area which is seen as a 'sacred cow'.
However I am not sure whether a thread like this is the best forum as the original question asked for details of eligibility rather than for our thoughts on spending priorities and family responsibility.
It's always a difficult call on whether to stick precisely to the original question or to extend the discussions but I think that to get into that debate on this thread makes it seem like Mrs O's position and is being questioned at a difficult time.

To be honest I'm a bit disgusted with this site regarding this and the other thread .
Normally respected abbers help each other and this sensitive matter has snowballed and there seems no compassion to mrs o and gness from long time users
squad is normally so helpfull to loads on here anyway and the attitude seems like it's from a different person !
I wish mrs o and gness all the best for the future, life isn't always rosy but normally the support on here is amazing but like I said the answers you were looking for and the replies have been disgusting.

Pizza. Jumping in on MrsO`s thread. Please don`t be disgusted with the site. MrsO and I have received so much help from Abers recently we are quite overcome at times.
Only a very few people were unhelpful and we both are feisty enough to not let it upset us.
Thank you for your good wishes. Much love Gx
