Sqad said " We are getting very emotional, personal and well off the subject as to should the NHS pay for patients to return home after medical or surgical treatment" . I agree with the first half of the sentence but not the rest as it seems to me it was sqad who went off the subject.
Yes, there is a debate to be had about funding transport (and car parking) costs related to NHS care. I think sqad makes some very valid comments on AB about NHS spending, inefficiency and excess in an area which is seen as a 'sacred cow'.
However I am not sure whether a thread like this is the best forum as the original question asked for details of eligibility rather than for our thoughts on spending priorities and family responsibility.
It's always a difficult call on whether to stick precisely to the original question or to extend the discussions but I think that to get into that debate on this thread makes it seem like Mrs O's position and is being questioned at a difficult time.
