I've just been prescribed Nitrofurantoin for a water infection from the walk in centre, and have just noticed that it says to be careful if you are Vit B deficient. I'm b12 deficient (under control), will this matter? I've had one already.

btw will update you on bp med shortly, waiting to get results!

He's hot on sex advice though, especially if lingerie is involved.......

To Janedoe - folk do meet up and send e-mails to each other behind scenes, you know.....and hence people's background and experience is known to some. Still, if you aren't confident, you don't have to follow his advice but that doesn't mean others shouldn't/can't.
Jane.....I had read it and don't forget....we're not stupid, and neither is Sqad.......except he seems to have forgotten the key is under the mat. x
'Starbuck - challenge me ! I am not a medic or involved in medicine at all but I guarantee that any medical symptoms you type in I will be able to give you a prognosis/ diagnosis and provide medication advice all in around 10 minutes or less. not now though cos I have to go out ;-)
janedoe - 1. yes I have read it several times and know what it says.
2. My doctor gives advice over the phone without seeing you.
3. My husband's doctor wrongly diagnosed him after seeing him several times, but not listening to him (I was there and he did not listen to me either), resulting in his premature death. Perhaps he would not have lived much longer but when you love someone and see them suffering - well, I say no more.
If you'd posted this in the Health section then you would have seen the caveat that advice on here shouldn't be taken instead of consulting your GP or similar. I don't doubt sqad is right, creamegg, but you can ring your GP in the morning (or ring your duty chemist now if you want to know today, places like Tesco pharmacy will be open until 4pm).
Sqad is a retired consultant and has the best advice ever - better than any of our GPs, you only have to put his name on here and he has a secret sensor and ...hey presto .... he pops up with the answer from the depths of his deckchair in the sun! If only the NHS appointment service was as quick! Don't criticise him or you will have us to deal with Creamegg, but of course you probably have never had his advice before. Don't worry - he's kosher! :))
I never knew he was Jewish, ann..... :-)
Not often I stick up for sqad, but I am sure he would be quite good at gyne too given the chance!!
Blimey Star...didn't know that.....me experience exactly.

Jane........you risk having to listen to a lot of Sqad helped me anecdotes so....In July I couldn't walk to the end of my road without pain and having to stop. Yesterday I chased waxwings....running up and down little hills... thanks to information from Sqad which led to me being able to access the correct medical help via my G.P.
I love the old rogue.....even when we argue. x
Oh my, Ann, the concept of a "Sqad Stormtrooper"! Actually it's not creamegg who is the doubting Thomas, it's Janedoe......
//Don't criticise him or you will have us to deal with//

hang on Ann, to be fair Jane only raised a perfectly valid general point
Ann - I don't think that creamegg is doubting Sqad, just JaneDoe2 who is a newcomer
"my"....haven't gone into baby talk....yet.
Is he licensed to conduct circumcisions then, ann?
It's not creamegg who is doubting sqad, janedoe raised a perfectly valid comment about taking advice off a forum rather than consulting your own physician. It's a site recommendation, with no offence to sqad or any of the other clinicians and ex-clinicians who post on here.
[i] I would have written "God" but Ann is fairly devout so thought "my" to be a little more sensitive, gness.[i] x

Can I just make it clear that I was not the one doubting squads advice Ann86 lol.

I'm not stupid either and am actually a student nurse myself so I know quite a lot about medications and so forth, but I also know that Squad has helped me a lot in the past and is very reassuring (I find). I did phone NHS Direct before I posted and was told that I would get a phone call back in about 4hours, as they were inundated and were only taking emergency calls.
If someone is allergic to Ibuprofen or has a bad reaction, they will not blindly take it because someone on answerbank told them to, generally as adults we all exercise a bit of common sense when we receive advice. We are not sheep.
Have many of the lady ABers been under Sqad? In the medical sense, I mean.
Jane, were you prepared to accept advice on the two questions you asked regarding relationships?
