I've just been prescribed Nitrofurantoin for a water infection from the walk in centre, and have just noticed that it says to be careful if you are Vit B deficient. I'm b12 deficient (under control), will this matter? I've had one already.

Did not realise newbies are not allowed to have an opinion that disagrees with the 'oldies'. Not allowed to interact in jovial intercourse as this may be construed as too familiar and be interpreted as covert posting by a banned user. Not allowed to post more than a few times a week to start with as they must have an ulterior motive. Any minute I'm going to go 'bang' like Achmed (sp) the dead terrorist and splatter you all with raw egg (or should I have cooked it first.....) better go check on Food and Drink. Lighten up I'm who I am me been on here a few weeks its a bit of a laugh on so many levels ;-)

1. Conceptually, you (JD and VV) are correct.
2. The AB Site Rules (and especially the Health Page) clearly state to take professional help from a qualified GP
3. However..............Sqad is well known around here and in the flesh to some people - his general advice is usually sound and he often couches that folk should get themselves to their GP (wit gness's recent issue for example). So folk tend to put a lot more weight on what he says.
4. Sqad is very clear about his GP and overall Medical interests and knowledge gaps......his advice is pragmatic.
5. All doctors can make mistakes - just pick up any paper and read about the NHS (and Private) cock-ups (plenty of those at the moment).
6. Hands up all those who Sqad has sent to their death.
7. Realise that we can still have some fun on this site and that 95% of remarks are light-hearted
8. There are bigger fights in life than the issues being tossed around here.
