Could you ask the chemist for 10 or 20 mg tablets?
Can you not cut it in half?

Do you always take it with water? I've taken that (although a smaller dose) - it didn't seem particularly difficult to take.
I should have added the 10mg Atorvastatin I take is fairly small
I'm the worlds worst tablet gagger .Try taking tablets with fizzy .Either sparkling water or lemonade .They go down really easily .
My late mum couldn't swallow any pill or tablet. The ones she couldn't crush (and you can buy a pill crusher but be sure that you can crush them, some will burn your mouth or stomach), she would swallow in a spoonful of jam, creamy moussy type pudding, or yoghurt.
Fill your mouth with water and then slip the pill into your mouth carefully. Then, simply swallow all the water in your mouth in one go and the pill will disappear down with it.

I asked for 2 x 40 mg
Turned down flat.
If you cut them, they are very powdery, and stick even more.
Try my suggestion MBH. It worked with my children. Honestly.

Will do Chrissa, many thanks. :)
We give tablets in yoghurt as advised by a Dietician.
Won't all the water fall out of your mouth when you open it to put the pill in?

I will truly try all your suggestions, if I even pop a pencil between my teeth, I gag. Hope I never need dentures.

Ha ha. No, Ladybirder. I said slip them in carefully. You do it by hardly opening your lips. Easy.
I was given tablets that seemed the size of horse suppositories and I was convinced that I'd never manage to swallow them. Sage advice from my mother, a nurse of many years standing was:
Relax, put the tablet in your mouth, take a normal mouthful of water, put your chin to your chest and swallow as normally as you can.
Worked for me and I'm a complete wuss with this stuff. Good luck.
I have to take a particularly vile tablet which is 1g and the size of a horse pill. The only way I can manage it is to crush it in a pill crusher and sprinkle it on my morning cereal
