Boots Avert cold sore cream

sounds like you are run down
My husband swears that surgical spirit is better than the proprietary remedies.
I had one last week, the top came off and it got better in three days on its own, actually.
Any cold sore cream with Acyclovir listed in the ingredients - get a cheap generic one from "Savers" rather than the branded version like Zovirax - it's the same stuff in the tube. Do not get it in your eyes though.

Then (as Boxy says) eat some fruit and/or take some vitamin and mineral supplements.
I use Tea Tree oil. It tastes pretty horrible but works better than anything else I have tried.
Zovirax is an excellent product which stops them spreading. You have to catch them early though

I find those little cold sore patches are good.
Tesco's own brand containing acyclovir is as good as Zovirax.

Our son suffers from cold sores occasionally and finds the light zapper called Virulite brilliant. I'm sure Boots will have an equivalent. If you zap the cold sore at first tingle it often doesn't even develop and if it does it's development is curtailed.
Apply a cream containing the ingredient as soon as you feel the tingle.
If left, and the sore appears. Continue with the cream. But I have found rubbing cheap perfume/aftershave at intervals into it dries it up quicker. It can sting a bit but helps.
The sapper apparently stops a sore appearing in the same point again but never cures you of developing more in different locations. Its the nerve ending.
