My wife has just been diagnosed with this and her main problem are her feet which she tells me a painful when she gets up and she does do some exercises to help circulation but I think she is looking for something more and maybe the wrong exercises she is doing. Any tips and help appreciated Thank you

No quick fix Ian...........the feet problem may well have nothing to do with her newly diagnosed diabetes.
Cut down on the amount of food she eats......no seconds and get her to do some exercise...e.g swimming 30 mins a day.

I was diagnosed about 3 years ago, I was told the best exercise for feet was walking, (not hard to stick to with two large dogs) It does the rest of you good as well. I see the diabetes nurse once a year at the moment, and also a yearly eye test, no medicines and so far no additional problems.
Good luck
Dad takes amitriptyline for his feet ..is type 2 ....speak to gp !
