Losing Your Temper
82 Answers
What do you do when you lose your temper? Today I got really angry for the first time in I don't know how long. I had a think and realised I can only really lose my temper on behalf of someone else......last time was when a nurse mistreated MrG.....you know that feeling when the red mist descends...it's actually quite nice. Maybe I will do it more.....I'm much too easy going I think......;-)
So...what do I do? I march around at speed banging things, chuntering and swearing...goodness...I said words I have never heard in my life!!!
So....one calming wine later and back to the muggy and overcast garden...x

Gness for the personality you have - something has really really upset you - but like everything else it will tide over.

I have the patience of several monestaries, and it takes a heck of lot for me to lose my temper however -
when it does go, my voice rises to a level that very few people have ever heard, and my eyes do flash (my children assure me!) and my depthless vat of sarcasm is given full reign.
I usually walk away from the situation, because the notion of violence while in a rage really worries me - never done anything yet, but circumstances can dictate behaviour which is not appropriate.
If I am in that much of a temper, it gives me a headache which will last a couple of hours, but i do calm down pretty quickly.
It is all the more shocking, even for people who know me well, because it is so rare, and few of them have ever seen it in full flow - family excepted.

I have a long slow burning fuse and I rarely lose my rag. I get mildly annoyed at things, but I generally have the ability to ignore. I tend to stay icy cold and completely collected.
However, when I do blow, I blow my stack completely. I stomp round, crashing and banging and I once chucked a tray of rotten eggs at Mr BM. lol
