An allergic reaction to hair products?
dandruff ?
Try T-gel shampoo from Neutrogena - it smells clinical but it helped clear up my scalp, I still use it from time to time.

LOL - I was about to type T-Cut - that would have a completely different effect!
When you say not fleas, do you mean you are certain it is not head lice. It takes a detecting comb to find them as they are tiny.
That might make it worse, Boxy....

I agree with the T-gel.

I suffer with a bad scalp but only when I'm stressed for some strange reason.
Do you think it might be what I call a sweaty scalp?
Mine always itchs like mad in the sun but I have the thickest hair you can imagine
If you are going to get T-gel please can I suggest you water it down as its very strong
Also you could try Alphasol shampoo (if you can get it - I believe there was a manufacturing problem) that's quite good
You might have abrasions from scratching that cause more itch. Have a salt water rinse & leave for 5mins & rinse off.
I didn't do well with TGel but Head and Shoulders itchy scalp shampoo/conditioner works well for me (and I'd never liked H&S original)

Maybe Nits. Its seems to me the cleaner the hair the more they are attracted.Ive lost count of the times my grandchildren have been affected. The problem is, the nits sometime get immune to the treatment.
