So Tired All The Time

What reasons could there be for being so tired all the time? For example Thursday night I fell asleep at 7.30 and got up at 6am friday ( as normal) for work. Fairly quiet day, then was nodding off by 10 last night until 8am today. I could have slept longer if I'd let myself (or the cat let me). I know I'll end up having a kip at some point this avo and be in bed by 10/10.30 again tonight.

I've recently been tested for thyroid and had full blood count so I know I'm not anaemic. (All tests satisfactory). Doc believes I have DUB but would that be the cause of the tiredness alone?

Age ? Heat ? ...I'm a bit like that too...in bed by ten up early though..but tired when I wake still....I put it down to age thing !
Question Author
I'm 'only' 29. :)

I don't think it's the heat, it's probably been like this for at least the past 6 months.
Anaemia? My Mum has anaemia and is exhausted all the time.
Question Author
As above Shari, been tested for it.
Well, all the obvious causes have been eliminated by the blood tests.

DUB may well cause, tiredness, lethargy and malaise because it is a dysfunction of hormones......I must say that i agree with your doctor on the evidence that you have given.
Sorry missed reading that for some reason Evian ;(
Well then you're too young for the hormone thing ! Has your diet changed are you allergic to something ? Are you active enough...lethargy makes me tired....there must be a reason...I'd keep a diary of what you do, eat etc related to how you feel see if you can spot something. But I'd go back to doc, much too young to feel like this
murray

\\\\\Well then you're too young for the hormone thing\\\

Why?
What is DUB ?
Question Author
Is there anything I could try taking to improve it Sqad? She said I couldn't have estrogen asi suffer from migraines.
I would not expect a youngster to have menopausal probs , but there could be imbalance somehow ??
Did they test for B12 deficiency? I was tired all the time and they found out (in Canada) that I had B12 deficiency. Have to have an injection every three months.
Evian...yes.....you could try going on the pill (progesterone).

Murray...dysfunctional uterine bleeding DUB....nothing to do with the menopause.
Question Author
Dysfunctional uterus bleeding, Murray. I believe it's more common in pre menopausal women but not exactly unheard of in younger.
B12 defy would have shown up on blood test.
Question Author
I think B12 is included in full blood count isn't it?

Anywho, wonder why she didn't mention the pill.. She just asked if I get migraines, I said yes, she said I couldn't have whatever it was she was offering. Ill speak to her again in the week then. Thanks!
er Full blood test usually doesnt do B12 and folate
wh I think still have to be separately ordered.

FBC they just shove thro one of those cute little electric thingeys (old word is haemocytometer [erm of Neumann]) and the reading comes out 5 s later. Really quick considering it used to be a next-day test.
Ah....I see..excuse my ignorance....must be linked somehow ? I used to get bad migraine and could only use mini pill, had to take without break....
B12 and folate deficiency would show in the size and shape of the red cells without separate B12 or folate estimations.
What Sqad said wrt B12 and Folate. Not a direct test covered by an FBC request, but red cells sensitive to deficiency; cell size and cell morphology would be indicative if this was the issue...
