Orthopaedic Surgery...

How does one set about 'going private'? After X-rays and scans it's been decided that a hip replacement is called for and the prospective patient has been placed on a waiting list to see a surgeon. I'm guessing that that consultation won't be today or tomorrow.

Just phone your local private hospital. They will arrange for you to be examined by a consultant within 2 weeks, that's roughly the general rule amongst the Orthopaedic surgeons where I work. You'd probably have your op within a month of that, certainly no longer than 6 weeks.

Does he, like the chap in this cartoon, see some people privately? Thanks for the recommendation.
