Hi all. Just wondered if anybody had any thoughts on this subject. I suffer with quite bad bad blemishes on my face, now if I was a lass then I'm sure they could be quite easily concealed with a bit of the old slap. It's bloody annoying as from the neck down my skin is almost flawless. Do you think it'd be acceptable for a male to attempt to conceal his poor skin?, if so, what should he use to do this? Any suggestions?

Definitely acceptable, i do it all the time.

I use clinique products and dermalogica products and they both have concealer sticks (developed to cover acne)

Would be worth going for a consultation with a skin care specialist to get the right blend/tones etc. and they have seen it all before and it shouldnt be embarassing at all.

Yes I think that is is acceptable for a guy to use concealer, BUT

This stuff is supposed to be the bees underwear for dealing with, not concealing, skin blemishes. If you buy it from QVC, you get to try it for 30 days and if you don't like it they give you your money back

Definitely fine.  there's far too much stigma around men using grooming products.  But get some advice on how to apply the concealer so it's not glaringly obvious - everyone needs this when they first start wearing make-up.  Maybe ask a trusted female friend or even your mum.

yes its fine.

although if my brother uses my foundation one more time as a concealer i am going to kill him!!!!!!

You should try YSL touche eclat, or if not, I believe Jean Paul Gaultier has an entire range of men's make up - its available in Selfridges.

Thanks all. I'll look into it. I can imagine the look on my mums face nicola_red when her 30 year old son asks her how to apply his make up!!
Ha mats, well, there'll be someone else you can ask!  By the way, YSL Touche Eclat is for dark circles and not blemishes - as it reflects light it will actually highlight spots etc.  I would recommend Urban Decay Cloud Cover or for a more affordable alternative Tesco Make-up Concealer - and you might need a good stuff brush too - I use an artists' one.
