Happy new year, I have the flu but can hardly breathe esp when I've been coughing, I walk around taking little breaths and it is so painful, should I go to urgencias, I don't really want to. I've taken a flu capsule and spoon of buttercup.

My best friend has just had flu over the Christmas period and she said she couldn't breathe very well. Her ribs were hurting, and across her back hurt too. I was worried she might have had pleurisy or even pneumonia (my daughter in law had pneumonia which wasn't diagnosed immediately). She has been given amoxicillin and is already a bit better. Flu is a horrible illness.
neti.....just seen your "Only Fools and Horses" thread.

How do you feel this morning?

Still in bed but am breathing normally. It was a horrible feeling, like my airway was blocked but fine now. Thanks

Fine neti..............take care.
neti, why are you reluctant to have the flu jab ?
Question Author
Anneasquith, I've heard that it can make you feel unwell for a couple of days, so without it I onoy feel bad for one or two days, and then I'm OK again.

Feel really atm, raring to go, although I know it's too early to get up and boogie, so am taking it easy.
ive had the flu jab for several years, and no side effects except a bit tender at injection site. id say get it done.
