Sqad, what would you say if she was 24 and he was 41? Any more likely to work?Is it the thought of having sex with an older woman the thing that makes it seem unlikely to work/last?
Scarlett....you are turning it round.........a young woman and an older man...........is that what you mean?
If so, then the prognosis may well be better and although sex is not the whole story, it is very important. Some 60 and 70 year old women are still good in bed and hence the younger husband would feel satisfied........but don't bank on it.
Sqad- my original question is regarding an older woman (44) being with a younger man (26). But I was also wondering whether its not so much the age gap which is a potential problem, but the fact that its the woman who is older. Does that pose more of a problem than if the man was older?
Scarlett......I understand that.......an 18 year age gap whoever is the older, is certainly going to be an added problem which a marriage does not need.
However, the outlook would be better if it was the male that was the elder........in my opinion.
...but not in mine. It depends entirely on the individuals, how fit the older person is, how interested in living, hobbies, mutual interests - and so on.
Sqad, I'd love to know on what you base your predictions - that the younger woman would care for the older man in older age, but the younger man wouldn't? It's not the way it is these days - I know several women very happy with their long-term younger men, and the younger men are happy too. There is no "mould".
