Crock Pot

How do you clean yours? Some people say don't wash it out with fairy liquid. Just rinse with warm water and wipe clean. Seems a bit odd to me!

I just wash mine in hot water without washing up liquid or any other additive, and don't have any problems.

Mine has a removable pot and I wash it in hot soapy water just like anything else.

I always wash mine thoroughly but was told this evening I'm ruining the crock Pot lol

Same as woofgang but I leave it to soak for a while so that anything stuck on comes off more easily.

The pot part comes out of mine and I wash with the rest of my dishes in soapy water

Its like the new ceramic pans, you're just meant to wipe them clean.

Also if switched off a crockpot is ceramic and cannot be put on the cooker to reheat. A slow cooker is usually metal within a ceramic outer and can be put on the cooker to reheat :) so there is a difference between the 2.

No it isn't . Mine has a metal outer and an inner ceramic pot which I lift out and wash in soapy water .

Well I put mine in the dishwasher, I'm not sure why it should come to any more harm than the rest of the crockery. I have a Crock-pot (trade-mark) slow cooker so it must be the same thing, I have also got a Morphy Richards slow cooker with an aluminium pot that you can use on the hob. Both are called slow cookers, at least that's what it said on the box and who am I to argue with the manufacturers.

I didn't realise you can get slow cookers for the hob .
I've just looked on Amazon .They call it a searing slow cooker .Good idea.
I may invest when my current one gives up .

Surely a Crock Pot is simply one brand/design of slow cooker ?
I must get a slow cooker one day, keep thinking about it.

As mine is not "non stick" I can't just wipe it clean with a cloth. Therefore it needs washing in hot soapy water to get rid of any food residue.

Seems ive written that the wrong way shaneystar2. A crock pot can be used on cooker ring aswell but a slow cooker cannot. I wrote that wrong, you are right the ceramic pot goes in the metal heater. I'm only going by what my friend told me, thats why I asked the question!
