Thank you all for your advice and kind words. I have the Claire Weeks books and also a great book by Paul David.

After I finishing sobbing Mr F. made me put my trainers on and we drove to the park and I drove back.

Well done Mr. F and you! I also know what it's like to curl up in a ball and be unable to face the thought of the world or going out. You're not weird, please see your G.P. and hang in there. x
You could try EFT emotional freedom technique. You will find this on YouTube. It seems to work for some people.

Thanks jourdain, one of my sons is off work this week so am going to try going walking in the park every day. I did this last year and lifted my spirits, but then I had a nasty fall and dislocated my shoulder which set me back.
Question Author
I'll take a look Gav. x
Do you have binoculars, Fusion.....if not beg, steal or borrow......makes a walk so interesting....xx
Question Author
I do have binoculars, gness but won't people think I am a peeping tom lol lol
Fusion....I was thinking you might look at scenery....birds....trees.... that sort of thing.....not looking through neighbouring windows!!!!

Take the binoculars....they add so much to a walk.....and time will pass happily for you....x
Good for you, fusion - and Mr F sounds nice. xx
Okay, Fusion.....to prevent you getting arrested on your next walk with binoculars I give you a challenge....

Come back with five different species of bird you've seen.....okay?...xx

Not sure I'll have time to take in the view as my son is. PE teacher and always want to whip me into shape when we go to the park. He thinks I am one of his pupils. The mere mention of 'let's stop to feed the ducks' has him foaming at the mouth lol lol. xx
Mind you, fusion - when I used to get in a weebly frame of mind, it was good having someone to tell me what to do!
Question Author
boxy, Mr F is fed up with me crying he can't understand why I can't move on from my past grief. He has a totally different outlook and is very laid back, he does not comprehend nerves.
I can relate to that entirely, fusion..... but sometimes if people "allow" for anxious behaviours, it doesn't give you the impetus to actually do something about it. If I'd been allowed not to go shopping, because it terrified me, or not to go out of the house on foot to go to work, I don't know what would have become of me. If people haven't suffered, they have no idea what it's like and can't empathise - but they can keep you moving!

Go see the doc tomorrow - then let us know how you get on. xx
Question Author
Ok gness I will look for birds. Today the lake in the park was full of swans and geese.
Take a check list of birds - looking at paperwork can be a good distraction!

boxy, I won't be able to get an appointment for at least two weeks, so think I will try the self help again. I know I can beat this if I can have a clear run at not going down with viruses etc.

When I did have counselling, the therapist said what an easy person I was to talks to.

I am normally the helper of others, sorting problems out, so to now be the one that needs sorting, I feel angry at myself.
Always the way, Fusion.....the one helping suddenly needs help and is the worst person to ask for it......
Now ditch the anger......that's no help......you need to focus on you for a while.....get all the help you can in any form....when you come out the other side it feels fantastic!

Now....I want the names of five birds....I won't be cruel and ask what type of swan or goose......but honestly...it helps.....
Just watch one bird for a while and you'll start to relax and smile.....☺

Will do gness. Though if said Son sees me with binoculars, pencil and pad, I can imagine him saying 'Mother this isn't a field trip, now put the heart monitor watch on and pick up the pace'. lol lol. When I took bread to feed the ducks last time we ventured in the park he walked on and disowned me lol lol.

I will just tell him my friend gness told me to do it. {:0o
...and you don't need the heart monitor, do you? - you want to go for a walk and have fun, not be measured as a keep fit exercise.... just enjoy!
