Hi there the last few days my blood sugar tends to have just climbed it is now sitting at 12.2 2 hours after lunch I took 2 metformin 500 mg at breakfast and the same at lunch to try and get my blood sugar down it was the same before lunch as it is now. I am going to walk to my parents house for tea 2 miles and I am drinking plenty of water but can I take an extra 2 metformin ? Because I am worried it will climb higher after tea next dose of metformin not until breakfast tomorrow morning.

So, you took 1000mgms at breakfast:and 1000mgms at lunch and your blood sugar is now 12.2.
Is that correct?
If so, take your blood sugar at about 9pm tonight and if it is still 12, then take another 500mgms before you go to bed.
If it is around 9 or less, then don't bother to take that extra 9pm tablet.

I think the first thing to say Gordie, is that you won't explode or anything like that if your sugar levels stay around 12. Diabetes isn't like having a heart attack so relax, you will wake in the morning and you will carry on.
Walk to the house and go easy on the food then walk home again.
You'll be fine, just relax and follow medical advice.
