Scar From Mole Removal Still Sore

Last October I had a mole removed from between my breasts as it was rubbing. It was not malignant but after the removal, the site became infected and I needed antibiotics.
It seemed fine for a while but then I noticed that the scar had become a raised hard lump which is sore and throbbing at times.
I have been back to the doctor twice and have been told that it is a keloid scar and nothing to worry about.
But I am still concerned that it is sore after all this time.
Anyone had any similar experiences?

Well it is not anything to do with malignancy.
I can't comment accurately on the diagnosis as i would need to see and feel it.........
Keloid....might be......

I just wonder if there is a stitch abscess, low grade which is simmering under the surface and a needle probe might make the diagnosis.
Go back to the GP and ask if it is worth slipping a needle into the swelling.

No, I haven't had any "similar experiences."
P.S...Was your son's ECG normal?

Hi Sqad, thanks for answering. I think I will take your advice and go back to the GP although not thrilled with idea of having a needle stuck in!
And how kind of you to ask after my son. He had some blood tests after the ECG as he was having pain in his testicles and a scan found no evidence of a lump. All the blood tests came back normal but he still has some discomfort and says he just doesn't feel himself.
I get most of this information from his wife as obviously he's a big boy and doesn't want to discuss all of the above with his mum. She is trying to persuade him to go back to the GP.
Again, thanks for your interest.
xx
