Has anyone used any haircare product that has really stopped hairfall (male pattern baldness) and helped regrow new hair? I'm pretty desperate!

Speaking as a fellow-endurer of that perenial male condition, I can advise that the best thing to do is to accept it, have a good short cut, and try not to worry about it. These days, younger men accept their status, with a good crop, and so do young women, who don't really care anyway. Just avoid trying to hide your hair loss - you'll fool no-one and look sad doing it! Keep your hair, scalp and skin in good condition, keep your hair really short, and watch out for sunburn. Remember, what you think of your baldness is not the same as what other people think - they really don't care about it - try and join them in that approach.
Thanks Andy, but I should have mentioned that I am female, and my hair is thinning on the top of my head as it does in male pattern baldness. I read somewhere that this condition may affect women too. I thought it may something to do with hormones, as I am 39 years old. Unlike a guy going bald and accepting it, it is very difficult for a woman. If I do not come up with a solution, I might have to consider a hairpiece/wig, something I do not want to have to do. Do you have anything different to say now? I am sure I am not the only one affected by this condition, so I was hoping someone before me might have explored treatments and had some success.
I'd have thought that your GP would be very sympathetic and refer you to the right specialist. Male pattern baldness isn't the same as thinning and is pretty much restricted to men. Slight thinning of hair in women is not unusual but if very noticeable then suggests such things as hormonal imballance, stress and dietry problems. You really should see a doctor - not because you're ill but because chances are whatever is causing this can be fixed.
