fast weight loss!

a work colleague is having his first boxing match in 10 days time, and is currently overweight for his fighting catergory by just under half a stone.

i know it's not healthy, but does anyone know any quick weight loss techniques?

Atkins - definately.  It's hard work to stick to but he will definately lose the weight on it.
For a quick weight loss (I lost 6lbs in 7 days) try the Atkins.  Fallen out of favour with many people now but works for me if I need a quick loss.

Felt like I was trying to pass a pumpkin after 2 weeks...not an ideal situation to fight in.

Problem is that if he's fighting he needs to keep up his strength and eat the right foods.  Atkins can make you feel a bit ill, especially in the first week as you come off carbs.

Why not contact a boxing gym and ask what they do as they must come across this quite often.  Jocky's must have the same problem too. Failing that, try a dietician. 

DO NOT GO ON THE ATKINS DIET AT ANYTIME.

Half a stone in ten days??? Easy three days before the fight dont eat and have a colonic. Before weigh in dont drink and go in sweat suit for about half an hour. Then replace fluids after weigh in. 7lbs isn't that much. The body will hold about 20lbs of water retention alone.

 

However I would suggest if this is a problems why doesn't he just step up a weight?????
