Had conjunctivitis couple of days before Christmas. Pharmacist recommended Golden Eye Ointment, which I unfortunately dug the dropper into my right eyeball which then caused the whole white of my right eye to go red!! ... I also got the Golden Eye drops and used both up to New Years Day. It then seemed to go away and started wearing my daily contact lenses again, however today the itchiness and redness has started again in both eyes. Don't want to take up Doctors time with something quite minor. Any recommendations?

Thanks VHG but I have none of those symptoms luckily. Just the whites of my eyes are pinky and sore and itchy. Iris/Pupil is OK and no swelling pain or disturbed vision.
It so unds to me like you need a quick visit to A&E - or do you have a local eye hospital? And doesn't sound very "minor" to me - get to your doctor's surgery quick!

Just been to Optician in my lunch break. He confirmed definitely only acute conjunctivitis. Purchased Optrex Infected Eye Ointment from chemist (containing Chloramphenicol). Thanks for all your advice. Dee
Good luck Dee, painful thing.
