Have just found today my treatment for (may have to go down that route of implants)
They are coming to £4,800.
Now I do have the money but it is lot to me so I don't know whether to pay it off and get rid of it or break the payments down in to a payment plan - you know speculate to accumulate.
What would you do. thanks

includes 2 x £130 sedations
x-rays - while work is going temporary denture. last temporary denture cost me £250 only to be thrown out.
The whole treatment is £4,800 - I really can't stand this denture in the front of my mouth - I have it a year now and it just feels like a lump of toffee that I want to get rid of. I am breaking my heart the amount of money cos I don't have loads at all.

Jennyjoan, if you have the money, I'd pay it off in one go so you don't have to think about it again once it's all done.
Mamya, that sounds quite painful - eating an apple with just gums. My grandparents had their teeth all out at a fairly young age. It seems to have been quite normal in their day.
I don't know how dentists can charge that much for implants and sedation. I'd love to know the average income of dentists.

Jj, if it will leave you almost broke, perhaps best to go for the instalments.
I don't even like paying £22 for a dentist to poke about a bit for a few seconds for a checkup. They must be raking it in. I left one dentist because she was bragging to her dental nurse, while she was poking about for a few seconds in my mouth, about how much money she made.

implants are very tricky, not many dentists do them. It can take months to prepare your jaw, have you asked about the possibilty or are you ready to roll?
It's a reasonable price. They're cheaper abroad but it may involve several visits, so factor in all that travel and it's best done nearer home.
I've had several, and I'd certainly do it if front teeth were involved. (They may be some day). It's not cheap but it's worth it to be able to eat. Good luck.

Yes Jno - they are my 4 front teeth - had they been missing elsewhere I would have left the gaps ie the side etc.
Mamy - I maybe can an get an interest free payment plan. It still frightens me too. And I am worried that even after getting this expensive work done - I (naturally) am going to have trouble with other teeth as I get older. thanks for any replies and also like JennyKenny's earlier post - her very expensive implants fell out in Spain. So what do you do - how do you make your mind up. I have a week or two to make it up.

The NHS don’t do implants.
JJ that’s quite a reasonable charge for what you are having done. Payment plans are not usually interest free so you need to check what the additional cost would be. Has your dentist confirmed that your bone density will accept the implant? I have had two, one was successful and the other was not due to the fact that I had a pre existing intractable infection in the sinuses on one side of my face. When they do work they are amazing. I would certainly consider having another if it was needed and viable.
